Trane Furnace For Sale

Batemans Bay Tourist

This weekend, I drove down to Batemans Bay, the closest beach town from Canberra. On the way there, I visited Rusty and Alli , who live in a nice barn in the middle of nowhere with their horses, cats and dogs.

Rusty showed me around his land and I ended up staying for dinner with them in the local pub.

I arrived late in Batemans Bay with almost no fuel left and the only backpackers having closed the reception for the night, but they let me stay anyway and thanks to my new TomTom I managed to find a fuel station in time, so everything worked out in the end.

On sunday, I found a few people at the hostel that were heading to a beach and I joined them there. We had a nice forest walk to a beach where I had my first chance to swim in the pacific ocean this year. The water was great and I had a lot of fun.

One of them had never seen wild kangaroos Despite having traveled through Australia for a few weeks already, so we stayed there for some more time until it had cooled down enough for them to come out, and we finally saw over thirty of them right at the beach.

Bridesmaid Dresses Under 60 Dollars

weekend away from home

The last weekend I spent with tourism in my adopted home of short-term Canberra. After I was bored in the last week in the evenings celebration but rather, I could now get them to do something.
I
the live music in the restaurants in Manuka and Civic have explored what a walk with Benh , Kirsty and Oliver and dinner and on Sunday was the first time in a tralischen worship. The Anglican church was recommended to me by Paul liked and gave me the same, I want to watch but also other communities.

After Dorothy has told me so much good about it, I've now registered with Couchsurfing to occasionally take with other residents and travelers with something. I have now found only two contacts with whom I plan to occasionally cook together, even in part to help not only the junk food We take on work to me. I'm sure there are many interesting encounters will result.

Regardless of yesterday I met Ann in Melbourne, which was the first time in Canberra and, therefore, just as I landed on a tour of the old parliament. We then spent the rest of the day together and have a look around Canberra. Ann is, raised in Melbourne, but originally came from Taiwan with her family and has spent the last years in different countries in Asia and America, we feel even more just as a tourist in your own country. We had to tell so much of the countries in which we have already.

the evening were we then on the Sony Tropfest , a short film festival, which was broadcast in all major cities of Australia 'and for free. The films were really good, and I can only recommend anyone looking at them on DVD or NineMSN online. My Favorites Ascension, Blues for the Soul and Scab have not been won, but the winners were also great.

Silver Desert Eagle Airsoft Gun For Sale

Roads of Canberra

My orientation in Canberra is getting better, but I fear I will never learn to drive in the Circular Road here. There are very few roads that go in a straight line, so if you use your natural sense of direction, you end up going in a completely different way than you think.

I know a good way to work now that I can easily find, but when I want to go somewhere else, I always get lost, which is a waste of time and fossil fuel.

However, I hope that this will get better when I get the Tomtom 910 GPS navigation system I just bought on eBay. The device looks like the right solution to me, with the source code for its Linux operating system available from the Manufacturer's web site, a 20GB hard drive for maps and ogg music and wireless integration with the car stereo and GSM phone.

I'm sure there are a number of interesting ways to hack it to do even more interesting stuff.

Pityriasis Rosea After Shower

Apology Ceremony

I'm more or less fully back at work now, using Mikey 's Office, Home and Car while he's back in my home in Germany, but today was a special day.

Australia today witnessed a historic moment when prime minister Kevin Rudd made an official apology to the Stolen Generation of Indigenous Australians. This may seem insignificant to foreigners, but in my impression, the significance to the population can be compared to the Warschauer Kniefall of Willi Brandt on German politics.

Since Parliament Hill is close to my workplace in Canberra, I had the chance to see the celebration over there myself. They had set up large video screens outside of the parliament building for the hundreds of Indigenous and Nonindigenous people that had gathered there. The speech that Rudd gave was very moving indeed and he got standing ovations in both the Parliament and outside.

Unfortunately, the opposition leader somewhat spoiled this event by giving a stupid reply speech. I do not think the people were so much opposed to what he was saying as they were embarrassed by him, but almost all the people in the crowd outside ended up turning silently away from the video screen and looking in the opposite direction while he was speaking.

More from Tasmania

the last three days I spent in Tasmania in the South West National Park. On the ferry from Melbourne, I had already met Jorinde from Hamburg, and we went down together on Thursday in the remote corners.

Unfortunately it rained there more than elsewhere in Tasmania, so we cut off our full day hike had prematurely, but we still had a great trip.

On Saturday, we were again in a zoo and will have a good time waiting for the platypus that live there said. The platypus came out then no longer, but we have seen many other cute native animals.

Apnea And Burning Feet

My LCA Miniconf presentation

I noticed that the video and audio of my presentation at linux.conf.au has been made available for download. I also uploaded the slides and paper to the usual location on userweb.kernel.org.

A number of people told me that they wanted to attend my talk at LCA, but were unaware of the reschedule from 11:30 to 9:15, and I guess there are more of you out there that would have seen it if they had the chance to attend the conference. Here is the complete set of material for anyone interested:

If you are using a MacOS or Windows based machine, you might have to download the Videolan Client , the Quicktime Components or the DirectShow filters for Windows in order to see the video.

Short Wedding Favor Sayings

Tasmania, Part 1

I've now got a little Hyundai Getz and started to relatively aimlessly driving through the area, after I decide I could not really for the best area.

Most of the time I had been through around Mole Creek today and saw there the local sights: a mountain, a cave, an apiary and an organic fish farm, last two, each with "Tasting", ie a small tasting.

As always, there are more photos.

then it has started raining in the area, just like yesterday in Devonport. The people here are very happy about the rain because there was no one for weeks, but I seem to just bring added everywhere.

Because of the rain I am then drove so until I had to look for a hotel out of tiredness. It is now really outside of my price range, but very comfortable and I can use the Internet connection of the owner.

The mobile phone reception is quite bad here, so I'm very hard to reach, but I am still of calls to my number tralischen, try so quiet several times. The Tübingen phone number is unfortunately very poor, that will change, but probably next week when I'm back in Canberra.

Off to Tassie

After I immediately took the ferry to Devonport in Tasmania, and with luck there, a four cabin to myself had. Now I'm just a quiet day in Devonport, and spend most of my time waiting: in my room in the hostel, on the washing machine, to the end of the Tempest or the Internet. Next, I want to wait for something to eat, but this must only be done the other things.

morning then I will really get going, and get me a car with which I then first the north of the island unsafe do.
